About the Owner

Hello and welcome to my site

My name is Derek Say and I have lived in Cirencester since 1985, but I originally came from Tetbury some 10 miles away. I have been involved with bikes all my life building my first bike at the age of thirteen. I have completed a Time Served Apprenticeship at the Mid Glos Technical College in Stroud back in 1974 - 1978. The first bike I built was a 197 Francis Barnett, which was a scrambler rolling chassis that came with a big box with a mixture of 150 and a 197 Villiers bits in. I couldn't wait to get home from school to finish it and run it up and down the street. My first real road bike was a 1974 Purple (Fizzy) FS1E, the best. After a few modifications I could get 72 mph down hill.

This has lead to a large number of bikes from a Suzuki GT 380, GT 185, GT 125, GT 500, GT 750 (Kettle), 250 & 490 Maico, Yamaha YZ 250 Motox and a number of Honda Fireblades. I still ride a CBR1000RR, I just love it.

I am currently in the process of renovating a number of my own bikes. These are: A1976 Suzuki RE5 Rotary, A 1976 GT 500, A 1968 Suzu ki T500, A 1968 T20 and a couple of 1966 T10's. I have quite a large selection of early Japanese spares from engines, frames, forks, tanks, carburettors and electrics.

For a number of years I rode Moto x in the Cirencester club with our home track being at Purton, nothing like it on a muddy day. As you can guess I did all my own preparation work which saved me a fortune, and the bike always looked the business.

In 1990 I set up my own small business carrying out race preparation, rebuilds and tuning for moto x bikes. I had a large following looking after the Mid wilts schoolboys club.

I have more recently been involved in the Road race scene prepping a Yamaha R6 in the North Glos Road racing club. This new workshop will be looking after everything from road bikes, off road bikes, race bikes, supermoto and quads. We carry out servicing, tuning, race preparation, modifications and supply and fit a large selection of tyres.

If there is anything else you want to know then just pop down and come and visit, I look forward to seeing you in the future.
